The Workshops for Graduates and Post-Docts in Chemical Engineering Sciences began in 2014 in Patras, with the aim of creating a welcoming scientific forum where early-career researchers could meet, exchange knowledge, present ideas, and build connections within the chemical engineering community. The first workshop was hosted by FORTH/ICE-HT, and from 2016 onward the series developed through collaboration with the Department of Chemical Engineering of the University of Patras.
From 2015 to 2019, five annual workshops were organized, bringing together graduate students, post-doctoral researchers, academics, and members of the wider research community. Over these five editions, the workshop established a tradition centered on scientific exchange, collaboration, networking, and opportunities for young researchers.
After the fifth workshop in 2019, the series entered a seven-year pause, primarily due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, in 2026, the workshop series returns. The 6th Workshop, scheduled for 3–4 December 2026 at the FORTH/ICE-HT Conference Centre in Patras, marks both a continuation and a fresh start.
With the same commitment to people, ideas, research, and scientific exchange, the renewed series looks toward a new generation of researchers and new opportunities for interaction and collaboration.
