Nanotechnology/Advanced Materials

In the field of Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials, the Institute’s research efforts aim to understand the fundamental issues of nanostructured assemblies and atomic arrangements, ultimately tailoring the final material properties and functional characteristics. Research activities focus on three main objectives: (i) designing and developing innovative nanostructures across various dimensions alongside functional materials for targeted applications, (ii) integrating (nano-)materials into devices and optimizing their performance, and (iii) investigating the impact of nanotechnology on energy, environment, health, and safety. To achieve these goals, material synthesis methods and nanoscale manufacturing techniques advance in parallel with advanced characterization methods and modeling/simulation approaches.
